STAKEHOLDERS MEETING BETWEEN THE POLICE SERVICE COMMISSION AND THE PCRC, ABUJA: 4TH MARCH 2026.

History was made on the 4th of March 2025, when the Police Service Commission held a Stakeholders Engagement with the Police Community Relations Committee. 

The meeting which was chaired by the Chairman, Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd) mni, had in attendance key members of the Police Service Commission Board, including Justice Paul, Adamu Galumje JSC (rtd), Commissioner, representing the Judiciary, and Dr Taiwo Lakanu (DIG rtd), Chairman of the Standing Committee on Police Affairs. 

The PCRC component was led by the National Chairman, Alhaji Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, who was represented by Amb. WADA Sadiq, the Deputy National Chairman, North. Others in the meeting included the National Vice-Chairman South-South, Dcn Kenneth Edafefeye Otuonunyo, Zonal Chairmen including Bishop Moses Omonkhuale, Chairman Zone 16, State Chairmen, including the Rivers State Chairman, Amb. Voke Emore, Delta State Chairman, Comrade Oliver Eyefia, Dr. Isaac O. Itseghosimhe, JP, and others.

One memorable highlight of the meeting was the incorporation of the PCRC into the Police Recruitment Committee, which is due to start screen aspiring recruits on March 9th, 2025. By this arrangement, PCRC State chairmen are expected to work with the Police Service Commission, Employment and Career Departments, as well as State Intelligence Department in their respective states.

The Chairman, PSC, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd) mni, while speaking at the meeting, praised the PCRC for their selfless service to the nation and humanity, and by extension National security, and charged that this same level of dedication be displayed as they engage in the recruitment exercise, ensuring that as the "eyes and ears of the community", only people with credible characters, and verified indigenes of the respective states are approved for recruitment.

Speaking on behalf of the National Chairman, Alhaji Wada Sadiq, thanked the PSC for the confidence reposed in the PCRC and promised not to disappoint the PSC and the nation.
