The Rivers State Police Command has taken swift action following a controversial online publication alleging misconduct by a Divisional Police Officer (DPO), ordering an immediate investigation and removing the officer from his position pending the outcome of the probe.

According to a statement issued by the Command, the allegations gained attention across various online platforms, prompting the leadership of the Rivers State Police Command to intervene without delay.

In a decisive move aimed at preserving public confidence and ensuring transparency, the officer at the center of the allegations has been relieved of his duties while an independent and thorough investigation is conducted.

CP Adepoju Speaks

Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, expressed deep concern over the allegations and emphasized that the Command maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward misconduct, abuse of office, and any behavior capable of damaging the reputation of the Nigeria Police Force.

The Police Commissioner reassured members of the public that the investigation would be handled professionally, fairly, and without bias, regardless of the status of those involved.
