RIVERS PCRC CALLS FOR IMMORTALISATION OF LATE SP BAKO ANGBASHIM ON THIRD ANNIVERSARY

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Rivers State has honoured the memory of the late former Divisional Police Officer of Ahoada Police Division, SP Bako Angbashim, three years after his death.

Angbashim was killed by suspected cultists at Odiemudie Community in Ahoada East Local Government Area on September 8, 2023.

Speaking on the third anniversary of his death, the Rivers State Chairman of the PCRC, Dr Voke Emore, described the late police officer as a dedicated officer who made significant sacrifices in the fight against insecurity.

Emore said Angbashim’s contributions to peace and security, particularly during his service as DPO of Bori Police Division in Khana Local Government Area, remain memorable.

He recalled the officer’s efforts in restoring peace and security in Ogoni, noting that his performance earned him the support of residents who reportedly opposed his transfer from Bori.

The PCRC chairman also highlighted Angbashim’s professionalism, diligence and commitment to duty, saying his legacy remains an inspiration to those working to promote peace and security in Rivers State.

Emore called on the Rivers State Government, as well as the Ahoada East and Ahoada West Local Government Councils, to immortalise the late police officer by naming a major project after him.

He also prayed for strength and comfort for the family of the deceased as they continue to mourn his loss.
