MARKING OF THE INTERNATIONAL WORLD DRUG DAY 2026, RIVERS STATE UNIVERSITY: 26TH JUNE 2026
The International World Drug Day 2026 was commemorated on Friday 26th June 2026, at the Rivers State University.
Dignitaries and speakers at the event included (in no particular order) the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, represented by the River State Commissioner of Health; the Vice Chancellor, Rivers State University, Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi, and his management team; the NDLEA Zonal Commander, ACGN Esther Lamini; the NDLEA State Commander, CN Kenneth Offer Onyeso, and his management team; the Rivers State PCRC Chairman, Dr Voke Emore, along with officers and members of the PCRC drawn from different formations in the state; and Royal Fathers, including Eze Barr. Temple Ejekwu, represented by Comrade Chris Boms, King Onekachi Amaonwu, the Eze Eberi Ugo, Eze Ka Eze of Omuma; Dr Chioma Don Lawson of the Benoni Lawson Foundation; and Dr Izuchukwu Metu, the keynote speaker.
